Quito´s Historical Center (downtown) is known world wide for its gorgeous colonial churches, homes, gardens and balconys. But also its colonial paintings and sculptures from the "Escuela de Arte Quiteño" or Quito School, an artistic style that mixes the Spanish and Inca cultures. La Mariscal La casa Sol is Located in the up and coming "Mariscal Sucre" neighborhood in Quito, and is just around the corner from a wide variety of trendy restaurants, bohemian cafes, bars and discotheques. Additionally, the area boasts a number of museums, including the Casa de la Cultura (the national museum of Ecuador), and specialty shops carrying everything from llama wool sweaters to Inca designed jewelry. The Quito international airport is located only 20 minutes away from us. Mariscal Sucre is a modern commercial center and the most important financial center of the capital, Mariscal was declared a "Cultural Heritage", in the 60´s and is a favorite place for locals and foreigners alike. |
